Activities

Additional activities include highland trekking, or strolling in the surrounding forest or between the scattered longhouses; fishing or meeting the people and observing the longhouse lifestyle and culture. There are also opportunities for observing the highland flora and fauna.  See the e-Bario tourism website for more details.

There are many handicrafts made locally, by the Kelabit people and also by their neighbours, the Penan, many of whom still live a nomadic lifestyle in the forest but visit Bario for trade.
